SILVER SALTIES
Silver Salties is designed for older Australians, aged 65+ years, however younger adults 18+ years are welcome to participate.
Our Silver Salties program fosters fitness, friendship, and inclusion for our older community members.
Weekly "Walk and Talk" session are a regular highlight, with a committed group enjoying the coastal walk and coffee catchups. These currently take place on Monday mornings - members meet at the club at 8:45am.
Strength and fitness classes on Thursday mornings, delivered by Capability Physio as part of their sponsorship help our members stay active and socially engaged. Registration in this class is essential. This class is currently at capacity and we are running a waiting list. Please email info@qmslsc.com.au to register your interest.
Plans are in progress to include Silver Salties in the club swim and run/walk on Sunday mornings. If there is interest the club will also look at putting on a first aid course for our Silver Salties.
To join the Silver Salties program please go to our Silver Salties website or fill in the membership form and drop into the office or email info@qmslsc.com.au
There is no charge to join the Silver Salties program at Quinns Mindarie SLSC and membership provides access to Silver Salties activities run by Quinns Mindarie SLSC.
You do not need to be a member of Quinns Mindarie SLSC to join, however if you would like to volunteer in any capacity in the general club activities (outside of Silver Salties activities) or do any of the education courses on offer at the club or participate in the general club training sessions, you will also need to join Quinns Mindarie SLSC.
Silver Salties participants also have the opportunity to become members of the club and engage in the wider lifesaving community. We appreciate that many of our Silver Salties have valuable knowledge, skills and interests that match meaningful volunteering roles that contribute to SLSA's vision and mission.
Our club is made up of volunteers who provide their time, knowledge and skills to keeping our club running. We also appreciate that volunteering provides individuals with meaning and purpose, an increase in self-esteem and wellbeing, a stress reliever, a depression fighter, a way of giving back and making a positive impact on the community and a way of connecting socially with others.
Our club appreciates you and any time, knowledge, skills you can share with our club.

SILVER SALTIES OPEN DAY
Our Club will host a Seniors’ Open Day and Morning Tea on Sunday 9 November 9am-1pm, designed to celebrate our existing senior members and invite more of the community to discover what the club offers.
The day will highlight the Club’s Silver Salties program, which brings older Australians together on our beach and in our clubhouse to stay active, make friends, and feel part of a supportive surf lifesaving community. Guests will have the chance to try a variety of activities, from a gentle beach walk/run and swim/float to an exercise class focused on strength, balance, and falls prevention. A short first aid session will also be offered, giving participants the chance to learn practical, potentially lifesaving skills.
Following the activities, everyone will gather in our function room for a shared late morning tea, providing time to connect socially and learn more about the different ways seniors can be part of the club. Many of our older members volunteer behind the scenes in the canteen, BBQ, bar, maintenance, or by assisting with our youth and all-abilities programs, and we’ll be showcasing these opportunities throughout the day.
The Open Day will be fun, relaxed, and welcoming, a true reflection of the Quinns Mindarie SLSC community spirit.
