FROM HUMBLE BEGINNINGS
In 1982, the Quinns Rocks Surf Life Saving Club was formed. The first clubroom was a small shed donated by the local authority. This was quickly outgrown and a larger shed was paid for and built by the members. This shed was to become the club's home for the next 15 years. During this time the club changed it's name to the Quinns Mindarie Surf Life Saving Club.
In early 2005, after many years of negotiations with the City of Wanneroo the club was able to move into the purpose built clubrooms that we occupy today. This project was made possible by funding from the City of Wanneroo, Mirvac Fini and a Lotterywest grant through Surf Lifesaving WA (SLSWA).
Surf Lifesaving Clubs exist primarily to provide voluntary patrols of members who are trained in first aid, rescue and resuscitation. We look after the safety of the beach-going public; providing assistance and education whenever possible.
We work with the City of Wanneroo and SLSWA to provide a voluntary service to the residents of Quinns Rocks and surrounding suburbs for those that use the beach.
